Principal's Message

Welcome to Gisler Elementary School and welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!

We have 19 full-time general education teachers, three special education teachers and one Speech and Language Pathologist in addition to numerous part-time support staff in the areas such as occupational therapy and adaptive PE. Two of our teachers are also in the role of Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for all District elementary schools. Gisler is also fortunate to have two part-time reading intervention teachers. The average years of experience for our teaching staff is 16 with almost all of them spending their careers in Fountain Valley. We also have over 30 support staff that help keep Gisler running smoothly and successfully.

Gisler is also fortunate to have a supportive community. An active PTO that not only helps to raise money for programs throughout the school in academic and extra-curricular areas but create dynamic family events throughout the year, culminating in our annual Carnival in June. Please do not hesitate to join our PTO, attend meetings and get involved!

For those of you new to Gisler, let me share a little bit about myself. I have been an educator for over 20 years. I taught for 11 years at Eastwood Elementary School in the Westminster School District. I came to Fountain Valley as the Assistant Principal at Masuda Middle School and then became principal at Moiola School before moving to Gisler Elementary School where I am thrilled to be beginning my 7th year. I attended college at Loyola Marymount University and received my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as my Administrative Credential at Cal State University, Fullerton.

I am so fortunate to be a member of the Fountain Valley School District and to have worked with amazing staffs. At Gisler, the staff is committed to the success of students and truly believes in the power of professional development. They readily take on new curricular challenges; programs and strategies are often brought to the staff from the professional readings done outside of the classroom. The passion of the staff is contagious and I cannot to another year with this fantastic group as well as our amazing students and families.
