Welcome to 5th Grade with Mr. Miller!
Mr. Erik Miller is excited to be part of the Gisler Gators team! He has a varied educational background across both elementary and middle school campuses. However, through all of these experiences and years, the one thing that makes coming to school each day the BEST, are students!
He loves helping students focus on their academic growth, instilling confidence in their development, and most of all, helping students become the best versions of themselves!
Some of the rumors you might have heard about Mr. Miller…
- He was in the same class with Albert Einstein.
- He played in the NBA, but retired after a career ending injury.
- He’s a fan of the Dodgers, Kings, and Raiders, plus UCLA.
- He believes in giving lots of homework, especially on weekends to all students.
- He was a world class opera singer, often performing to crowds of one.

If you read the list, then you should know, “don’t always believe everything you read, especially the rumors!” Here’s the real story…
Currently, Mr. Miller is teaching 5th grade, and appreciates getting to work with the oldest group of students on the Gisler campus. He views this opportunity with great reverence and responsibility, while also wanting to help students have fun learning at school. A huge focus each year, is to help students embrace an, “I Get to…” attitude, and find joy with learning, while helping students get prepared for their future in middle school and beyond…
He's a parent too, having raised three children who are now adults, each with their own unique talents and skills. This dog loving teacher, enjoys cheering on his favorite teams: The Angels,The Ducks, The Chargers, and USC football. If his alma mater (UC Riverside) had a football team, he would cheer them on too, but for now, he loves going to UCR basketball games. He loves playing golf, hanging out with friends, walking his dogs (Buddy & Sparkles), visiting his favorite place in CA, Pismo Beach! He can also be found coaching his son’s sports teams on many weekends as well.
