Volunteer Opportunities

Gisler is extremely lucky to have such a supportive community. If you are interested in volunteering with PTO, click to learn about our awesome PTO webpage for volunteering opportunities.
Our volunteers are an important part of our Gisler community, and we are committed to providing a safe school environment for our students and staff. Effective January 1, 2020, our volunteers are categorized as Level 1 or Level 2 volunteers.

Level 1: Volunteers perform less than 5 hours of Volunteer Service a week.
Requirements: Provide proof of being free of Tuberculosis with a TB Test from your medical provider.

Level 2: Volunteers perform more than 5 hours of Volunteer Service a week and can be a chaperone on Field trips. Requirements: Provide proof of being free of Tuberculosis with a TB Test from your medical provider, AND obtain LiveScan Fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice.
(The Fingerprinting form can be obtained from the school office. The Fingerprinting process can take up to 2 weeks to be cleared by the DOJ.)

Fountain Valley School District policy and CA Education Code require all Volunteers to have a TB clearance on file in the School Health Office in order to volunteer in the class or on Field Trips. TB Clearances are valid for 4 years. If you don’t have one on file or it has expired, you must provide us with valid proof prior to participating in any classroom activities or field trips.

When volunteering, please check with your student's teacher about volunteering in the classroom. Also, when volunteering, you must check in through the office and bring your Driver’s license or ID to sign in using our Raptor visitor management system. You must wear the printed badge while on campus or on fieldtrips while school is in session.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and support of our efforts to enhance the school safety protocols.
